VICTIMS (FJ)

8:32pm Tuesday Night

"Hey babes don't you think we deserve some food?  I think I've done enough reading, I can't go and kill myself." Torera looked up from her books at Fijabi, who looked as famished as she did herself. The only meal they had that day was cereal and it was in the morning. Their first test in the semester was coming up the next day and they just couldn't afford to spend any time away from their notes and text books. Professor Njeng has the history of setting extremely tough test questions and then quite simple exam questions so they had to give this all their best.
Torera's mom was a doctor and she made sure to tell her daughter that it wasn't healthy to read on an empty stomach, but she just had to disobey her mom this one time. Fijabi the foodie was all up and ready to go buy food outside. They didn't have time to start cooking that night. She literally had to force her friend up so they could go together. (She hates going anywhere alone)

At the cafeteria about 10 minutes later, the assistant chef placed their order in the microwave and started some random talk. " Aunty FJ!" (Fijabi rolled her eyes) "Nawa o you just forget us for here like that. E no fair o"
"I'm sorry," she was about to start explaining when Torera cut in. "Is the food not done yet?" She snapped. "We have books to get back to" Fijabi knew her friend was getting impatient and was going to lose it anytime soon. So she smiled at the chef and promised to see her later, after giving her a five hundred naira tip.
"You smile too much that's why those people can address you anyhow! Babes you gave her a five hundred naira tip! That's way too much for an ordinary chef! O.B.O, why don't we just go to the road and start spraying money instead? " "Madam please calm down. That lady is always nice to me and... "Goodness!" They both screamed. What was that? I don't know but it sounded like a gunshot and it was really close. Torera didn't even allow her to finish the sentence before she started running. Her food fell off and she didn't even look back. She got to their hostel and to her greatest surprise FJ was in there already. Gasping, she asked; "how on earth did you get here before me?" "You don't know what eni ori yo o di ile means? Hahaha! They both laughed.
They locked the door behind them and devoured FJ's food like refugees, at the same time wondering what the sound was about. Half way into their meal of fried rice and dodo with saûted fried turkey, they started hearing funny sounds outside. Then it turned to screams and frustrated cries. FJ flew up to switch the lights off. She screamed at Torera to lay flat on the floor. While on the floor, she blindly switched of their two phones, hid them in the pillowcase and tossed it to the other side of the bed. Fijabi was defended by the noise all over the place and got the shock of her life when she heard rapid kicks on their door. Then another sound followed. "Is that an axe? Or a cutlass?" She thought to herself. She could hear her friend sobbing silently next to her. Then the door opened!
